with BEL311

Monday Class. It's suppose have a class at 8 a.m and it was postponed to 8~10 at night.

The second class BAB 101 arabic class also been cancelled today.That mean I only have one class today..yeah!

As usual, starting class with recite surah al-Fatihah. After that we has been explained about summarising. How to use " MIDAS touch " in summary? 

                                           5 steps in summarising : 

                             M - main idea

                              I - identify supporting details

                             D - disregard unimportant ideas
                             A - analyse repeated information
                             S - simplify,categorise & label important information

After the explaination, we have a little bit knowledge how do well went making summarising.

After that, to make clear about paraphrasing. We had been done a paraphrasing game. Miss Zu give a sentence to one person and the information must be spread to others with use our own word without change the meaning of the sentence. That shocking.. some sentence has been change with the original meaning.

Tonight I want to story about our class today..

It is about " fact or opinion"

Example ;
1. Siti Nurhaliza is the best (adjective) singer in Malaysia who has been
    awarded all the thropies in singing competition.
2. Siti Nurhaliza is a female singer who start her career at the early age
    which is 17 years old.
The answer is no 1 is an opinion and no. 2 is a fact.
- If a sentence has adjective, it will be an opinion.
- Anything involve number, normally it is a fact.

Today class more enjoying and more relaxing.

Lets me story about our activities today.

We are divided into five group. Each group consist 5/6 members.

Each group are given one product that must to be promote to others. 

In the promotion process, we must create 10 sentence which consist fact and opinion.

Wednesday,4 July 2012.

Today we learnt about contextual clues.Before we lernt about that,Miss Zu had shown to us a poem which called " Jabberwocky ".The word used in the poem are very difficult to understand.But after we had read carefully,we understood a little bit about the poem.This is because we used the techniques of contextual clues. The most word that I like is "CALLOOH! CALLAY! "

Contextual clues are words. phrases or sentences within the article that can help readers to deduce meaning without referring a dictionary.

Ast activity before we end the class is do exercise,,

we have sitting in the group and at least 5 members,,

the exercise is FIND THE MEANING BASED ON THE PARAGRAPHS GIVEN

   

Third Week with BEL 311

first of all, I want to wish thank to everyone that take time to read my blog.
Third week with BEL 311. Our class is more focus about our term paper assignment. 
As we has decide our broad topic, for this class, we must decide our narrow and focused topic.

For this task,we are need to use PARAPHRASING. Of course all of u want to know what is Paraphasing??
Actually, Paraphasing is.......

P      Paraphrasing is a rewriting or clauses,sentences,phrases or paragraphs or any part of a text in 

        different words and syntax from the original. 
         
        COMmonly used paraphrasing techniques

1.       synonyms
2.          Moving phrases
3.          Changing voices
4.         Changing parts of speech
5.        Sentence combining

SYNONYMS

Overuse of ground water would lead to pervasive drought.

Overuse of ground water would cause widespread dryness.

MOVING PHRASES

  •    Overuse of ground water would cause widespread dryness.
                                             =
      Widespread dryness would be a result of overuse of ground water.



        That mean, equal meaning to original text with using other word or pattern. we also can rewriting someone idea and must give a reward to them. The reward means we must allocated his/her name in their idea.

Our topic was accepted but some correction from miss Zu and other classmate members.

TUESDAY 19/6/2012

My first class for this semester from 8~10 p.m. Our class are at Cyber Lingua Laboratory. Before this, miss Zu are ask to us to write an essay about our class activities.Because our grammar so critical,Miss Zu must to reminded our class member about grammar. That surprising, we cannot recall what we have learn before this.So poor ><". Miss Zu tell to us she was imagine that she was teach at kindergarten,That is because, she just ask about tenses,but we dint's know. Oh My Goodness. After she explain more about grammar, now we more understood about it.

Wednesday 20/6/12

Today class we discuss about our topic for BEL311 assignment.We choose topic " Loan shark". Loan shark means that, illegal loan.We choose this topic because we seen that,nowadays,many people just make quit decision to borrowed money from illegal loan without think about their causes and effect.

At class, we must decide which type of essay we want to use.Finally,we decide to choose cause and effect because its most suitable with our topic.Other topic that was chosen from other group are baby dumping, polygamy,metroseksual, wedding of the years, cancer among men, junk food effect and other else. We hope we can do this assignment smoothly. =)

Facts or lie

   As usual, monday class start at 8 a.m. Start class with recide surah al-fatihah.There have two new students entered our class today.They are actually come from the other class and move to our class.Today activity in our class is we were ask to do with a partner. At the first, we are need to introduce our friend. Then, we are need to talk the four fact about our friend include one lie. The rest of my classmate must to guess which one the lie.It is quite difficult to us to detect the lie.
   For my experience, the fact that I have talk are i very like purple colour,everything that I have must be a purple colour.The second fact is I very love read the novels.Where never have a new novel in a market, I dont past the chance to buy it.The third is I very like to watching a movie and the actor that I admire most is shaheizy Sam.The fourth is I am a lefthanded writter. The lie that is I made is I very like to read the novel.Actually I dont like to read a novel.It easy to them to guess me because they already know I dont like to read a novel. that all for today....
 
 

My Story BEL 311

MONDAY 11 JUNE 2012

  For this semester, I am in part 3 for June ~ Nov 2012 and I take BEL 311 subject which is " ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSE".

  My first class in this semester is BEl 311 at 8 a.m . Because it is my first class, I felt very excited come to class. I entered class with happy and nervous feeling. I happy because we meet again with our classmate after a long semester break and I feel nervous if the lecturer are too hot tempered. I fell scared.Oh... praise to God, I got a lecturer that was enjoyable (' ',). She introduce her self. She is Miss Zuraidah binti Sumery. Besides that, before the class start,we are required to recite surah al-fatihah. It's good to get barakah from Allah. I very like with her style include attire,communication skill,her voice and soon. Futhermore, I like her to be my BEL 311 lecture because she always use a new word that we never heard before that.For example the word " Jeoperdise". That's can be to improve our vocabulary. At the end of class, we are required to do outdoor activities.In this activities, we must speak in english with our friend with the topic given. That was interested. If the activities run with music that will be more interest.

TUESDAY 12 JUNE 2012

   It should be my second class with BEL 311 at 8 p.m but the class was cancel. Miss Zu was call our classrep to inform the class was cancel because she has urgent. We feel so happy...Hooray

this is my feeling went the class is cancel...huhuhhuhu

WEDNESDAY 13 JUNE 2012  

   Start class as usual at 8 a.m by recite surah al-fatihah first. Then,Miss Zu ask us to list four facts " that's Shocking " that have with us and list down at a piece of paper. We are given 10 minutes to list down. After that, we are need to fold the paper into spaceship.( like us went we are still child, play a paper spaceship)..hehehhe
Then we threw the paper randomly. after the time its up,we need to take other person spaceship.Then, first person go to infront and read that's shocking that have at that spaceship. Other rest must to guess who's is belogings? That's was very shocking. Can't believe but it's true...

soo funny activities,,, because it show all our friend felling and habit.. I cant imagine it..
